Weekly Blog 8th Nov 2022   CANADIAN SWEEP IN CHARLOTTE

After last weeks extended report about my trip to North Carolina to attend the World Short Track Championships in Charlotte and to visit my family in Raleigh, this weeks offering will be short and sweet.

It would of been nice to have stayed down there for an extra week, to do the SUPER DIRTCAR SERIES  at the DIRT TRACK WORLD FINALS, but I had to be back in Canada for various appointments and reasons.

So , instead of being there, I had to follow things  on social media.

The SUPER DIRTCAR SERIES for Big Block Modifieds is just part of the three day show which also consists of World of Outlaw Sprint Cars and Late Models. They don’t interest me too much, so I was only paying attention to what I enjoy.

There were five Canadians teams taking part.

From Ontario there was Mat Williamson and Brian McDonald, then we had Yan Bussiere, Mathieu Desjardins and Paul St Sauveur representing Quebec.

On opening night , it was Williamson who took the checkers.

That was no surprise , as Mat from St Cathrines  is one of the top drivers in the sport right now.

On to the second night,  there was another Canadian win when Mathieu Desjardins of Sorel made people sit up and notice, with a shock win.

To us Canadians it was wasn’t such a surprise, as we know he’s a quality driver, but I’m sure most fans south of the border hadn’t even heard of him.

So it was two out of two for Canada as the show went into Saturdays final night .

After the 40 lap feature , it was Williamson once again in Victory Lane, making it Big Block Sweep for Canada.
