Race Car Show     Cornwall Square Mall (Ont)

My original plans for this past weekend were to attend the Can Am Speedway at Lafargeville NY, for there back to back Saturday and Sunday season openers.

After a brief spell of sunny weather Mother Nature turned nasty towards the end of the week and much of the north east suffered a bout of wet weather. Can Am’s Saturday night SUPER DIRT SERIES for 358 Mods was the first cancellation with Sunday afternoon’s Series race for DIRT PRO STOCKS going the same way a short time after. Most of the other scheduled events in up state New York were effected also , with the two notable exceptions being the Orange County Fair Speedway at Middletown ( Sat) and the Cayuga County Fair Speedway at Weedsport (Sun). With the weather being uncertain, I didn’t risk traveling the long distances to either of them. Web Master Craig, took a gamble and went to Weedsport which was won by Danny Johnson. At 5-00pm on Sunday night the race cars of the Cornwall Motor Speedway were setting up in the Cornwall Square Mall for the start of this weeks annual car show. I went along to meet friends and take some photos.

On display were the 358 DIRT Modifieds of Gage Morin (16), Mitch Jock (14) and Danny Jalbert (5), the Pro Stock of Marc Lalonde (8), the Mini Stocks of Ronnie Tyo (1J) and Frank Colpits (72) as well as five karts from the Kids Karting Club.
