SAT 10 June    BROCKVILLE ONTARIO SPEEDWAY
SUN 11 June    CIRCUIT MONT-TREMBLANT

This week it was the turn of the Friday tracks to take the big bashing from Mother Nature, with more familiar stories of cancellations.

Saturday was a little better, and some places survived (or nearly did) , and one of which was the Brockville Ontario Speedway where I chose to go.

020_20The cold and windy evening, which felt more like November than June, started off dry but a late shower meant a premature ending, with the Street Stocks and DIRT SPORTSMAN features being held over until next week.06112006c

002_ 009_9There were 20 DIRT Modifieds in the Feature, with Gatineau, Quebec`s Peter Mantha not letting go to his early lead, giving him his first ever visit to the B.O.S Victory Lane.06112006a

In contrast to the Rookie feature, which took ages to get through, due to a couple of rollovers, the Vintage Stock Car event was over in very quick time with Amy Amell taking the flag once more.06112006b

Again,  the amount of rain that fell on the Cornwall Motor Speedway caused a cancellation for the second week running.
As they say, every cloud has a silver lining, even the dark rain clouds ! , and I was able to salvage the day, by going to the Circuit Mont-Tremblant and adding another track to my Track Chasing totals (# 143).

I took off in my Chevy Cavalier , and crossed the Ottawa River at the Lefaivre Ferry.036_36

The circuit is a road course, very ‘European-looking’ and situated in the Laurentian Mountains of Quebec.

This weekend was their Legends event for classic race cars from the past, which ranged from Micheal Schumakers , Lucky Strike Benneton to a Triumph Spitfire open sports car.070_70 (Large)06112006e

071_71 (Large) 075_75 (Large) 078_78 (Large) 067_67 (Large)There were Ferraris, Masserattis, Lotus etc , etc, and my personal favorites being the Aston Martins.083_83 (Large) 084_84 (Large)

I have always had a soft spot for Aston Martins, as I once lived just ten minutes away from the factory in Newport Pagnell (UK) .

I detected wealth everywhere, and my humble Chevy Cavalier looked a little out of place in the parking lot, next to all the fancy cars, and not a Pick Up Truck in sight !
