I’m  still waiting for the track action to start in my part of Canada , but that doesn’t mean there`s nothing interesting to do.

This past weekend has been a busy one , which started on Friday night at the SEAWAY VALLEY MOTORSPORTS SHOW in Massena NY, just a ‘leap’ away from the Frogtown International Speedway or an an energetic swim !   across the St Lawrence Seaway from the Cornwall Motor Speedway.

The man behind the show was Mike Watts , a buddy of mine from Plattsburgh NY,  who`s famous for his great speedway photos that appear in the north eastern racing press.

There were race cars of all sorts , dragsters, late-models, karts, sprint cars and about twenty dirt modifieds which included top runners, Dale Planck, Stewart Friesen, Tim Fuller and the Eckerd 200 winner of Billy Decker. 03312006a

This was the first time Mike had staged a show in Massena,  it was a great success, and I hope it will become an annual event.

On Saturday night, I attended the Cornwall Motor Speedway banquet, where promoter Ron Morin was celebrating twenty five years in control.

Distinguished guests, Guy Lauzon, ( the local member of parliament) , Cory Reed (DIRT MOTORSPORTS marketing director) and Tonya Moschell (head of DIRT MOTORSPORTS North East)

03312006bwere present to see Ron honored with the Sheldon Legue Award and Dale Planck accept his 2005 Modified Track Championship trophy.    03312006c
