Lac Mirage (Victoriaville PQ) and Ste Eulalie (PQ)

Weather certainly changes quickly in these parts, just two weeks ago a freak bout of warm weather melted much of the snow and ice away, but this week temperatures shot back to what`s normal for February , with freezing rain and snow storms, causing havoc on the roads. On the positive side, when it`s minus 20 with a windchill factor of around minus 30 ice racing excels and there`s been enough events taking place to keep me happy. So much in fact , that I was able to do a “mixed double” today, no I did`nt play tennis ! , it`s a TRACKCHASERS term for getting two tracks counted in one day. An early start time at Lac Mirage, close to Victoriaville in Quebec allowed me to go there first, where the racing was more of a serious nature.( there was even an Andros Trophy Citroen there that had raced at Sherbrooke last week)  I was joined by fellow TRACKCHASERS , Will White and Guy Smith who had both travelled up from Pennsylvania. After watching three races at Lac Mirage we all departed, Will and Guy went in the direction of a track at  Issoudun , while I set off for Ste Eulalie which was only about 20 miles away. The racing at Ste Eulalie was a complete contrast to what I`d seen earlier , it was the fun type, like stock car racing was in the early days, and it was held on the ground at the back of a bar. There were plenty of big ‘banger” V8`s aswell as a 4 cylinder class …. I saw four good races there.

Lac Mirage was my TRACKCHASING TRACK  # 136

Ste Eulalie was my TRACKCHASING TRACK # 137
