With my last racing event a distant three weeks ago, I was looking forward to trekking down to the Hagerstown Speedway in Maryland for the start of the SUPER DIRT SERIES.

It`s a ten hour drive , and I’ve been there three times before, but alas, on my last two visits, Mother Nature forced cancellations, so for this year I was regularly checking on-line weather sites.

During the week , the long range forecast predicted a 30% chance of rain.

I was willing to take a chance with that, so packed my overnight bag in readiness.

After a final weather check on Friday night it revealed a 60% possibility of afternoon thunderstorms with snow showers in the evening.

This was too risky, and was enough for me to pull the plug on my trip , so instead, I put “Plan B” into action.

I took the short drive to Ottawa to visit the Ottawa – Gatineau International Auto Show. 03252006b03252006c 03252006a

There were plenty of exotic cars to see as well as a few competition cars, including a couple from the Newfoundland Targa Rally. As for road cars , I quite liked the new Dodge Caliber, ideal for TrackChasing.
As a foot-note, …….. I`ll never be a good gambler ! ,  I’ve just learned on line,  that Hagerstown ran as scheduled , with Brett Hearn taking the checkers.
