Rick @ The Races (4th March 2006)  Minden Fairgrounds (Ont)

At about 10-30pm  on Friday night, I decided , I`d get out of bed early on Saturday morning and head up to the Minden Fairgrounds situated in the Halliberton Hills north of Peterborough (Ontario) to another ice track I`d not previously visited. This weekends racing was a rescheduled date for an event cancelled last month when warm weather turned the snow and ice in to slush. After watching ice racing in Quebec for the last two months, it seamed strange for me to hear English speaking voices, and not French. There was a good turn out of cars, about forty , I would guess, which included a couple of Volvo`s , the racing started early in the morning with a break for lunch. I watched the morning session before setting off for the four hour return drive home. ….. Looks Like  “BatMan”  was out there in car # 43
